OCTOBER’S SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER:
JAMES KEACH

Esteemed Producer, Director, Writer Actor & Executive Producer of the Academy Award Nominee, Walk the Line

James Keach has worked over the years as an actor, writer, producer, and director. In addition to producing “Walk the Line” which was awarded this year's Golden Globe for Best Film Musical or Comedy, and nominated for five Academy Awards, he has just finished directing and producing the feature film BLIND DATING, a romantic coming of age comedy starring Chris Pine and Eddie Kaye Thomas with MilCoz Films UK. BLIND DATING will be released in March 2007.

A graduate of Northwestern University and the Yale School of Drama, he received classical training as an actor at the New York Shakespeare Festival under director Joseph Papp and was a founding member of the Body Politic Theater in Chicago. James has starred in over fifty feature films and has produced and directed heater in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. He has also directed and produced over a hundred hours of television and numerous feature films.

In association with Clint Eastwood and Malpaso Productions, James directed the Warner Brothers feature film “The Stars Fell on Henrietta”, starring Robert Duvall. He received two Western Heritage Awards for Best Director, for the series “The Young Riders” which he also produced, and the Cable Ace Award for the cable feature “The Forgotten”, which he co-wrote and directed.

Other films James produced include the feature “The Experts” for Paramount, and “A Winner Never Quits” for ABC, which won the Humanitas Award. He co-wrote and executive produced “Armed and Dangerous” for Columbia, and co-wrote, starred and co-executive produced in the classic western “The Long Riders” with his older brother Stacy Keach for United Artists.

James and his wife, Jane Seymour, have worked together most recently on BLIND DATING and on numerous television movies. They starred opposite each other most recently in “The New Swiss Family Robinson” for Disney and in “Enslavement” for Showtime. Through their company Catfish Productions, they have produced WALK THE LINE and BLIND DATING and such television films as, “Enslavement”, “The Absolute Truth”, “A Marriage of Convenience”, “Murder in the Mirror”, “Blackout”, “A Passion for Justice”, “Praying Mantis”, “Sunstroke”, and “Revolutions”. Their films have always been highly received and earned record ratings, as was their series “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman” in which she starred and James directed.

Together they reside in Los Angeles, raising their six children, playing golf, writing children’s books, and producing movies, television shows and documentaries, including the award winning documentary “Disease of the Wind” which Keach wrote, directed and produced. In addition, James has just recently completed building their new state of the art postproduction facility PCH Studio in Malibu, California.
