JOHN JACOBS is the president of Smart Entertainment, a cutting-edge, prestigious management and production company based in Beverly Hills, California. Smart Entertainment represents the “best writers in Hollywood” and has also moved into all kinds of management. Jacobs and his partners have developed a stellar reputation in Hollywood, having produced a number of high-grossing films in short space of time, and having worked with some of the biggest names in comedy and in Hollywood.

Some of his credits include: Anger Management along with Happy Madison for Revolution Studios and Sony Pictures, starring Adam Sandler, Jack Nicholson, and Marisa Tomei; My Boss's Daughter for Dimension Films starring Ashton Kutcher; The Ringer with the Farrelly Brothers for Fox Searchlight starring Johnny Knoxville and Brian Cox, which was Fox Searchlight's most profitable movie of the year. He most recently finished producing Blades of Glory starring Will Ferrell and Jon Heder for DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures and is in pre-production on South of the Border for Touchstone.

He currently has over 15 projects in active development, including a TV series for Sony, and distribution deals lined up with 20th Century Fox, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. Pictures Distribution, MGM and Paramount.

Jacobs was the former president of Dawn Steel’s company, Steel Pictures, during the release of the hit comedy Cool Runnings. He was also the former president of Atlas Entertainment, which produced 12 Monkeys and City of Angels.
