FEBRUARYS SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER: J.C. SPINK
Manager & Producer
J.C. SPINK (Manager and Producer) and Chris Bender are partners in BenderSpink, the dynamic, powerful, diversified management/production company that has taken Hollywood by storm.
Since opening its doors in November 1998, BenderSpink has quickly become a powerful force in Hollywood, co-producing and/or participating in several major box office blockbusters, such as “American Pie,” “American Pie 2,” “American Wedding,” “The Ring,” “Cats and Dogs,” “The Butterfly Effect” and “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.” Along the way, the company has developed enviable relationships with Warner Bros., Dreamworks, Universal Pictures, Disney, Fox 21, and New Line Cinema.
Amazingly, J.C. Spink and Chris Bender sold twenty-four client spec scripts just over a year after the company opened its doors for business, with a roster of fifteen screenwriting clients. Shortly thereafter, Benderspink went on to co-produce Universal Pictures' American Pie and convinced Disney executives to take a chance on a first-time director for Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. On the heels of such success, New Line Cinema signed Benderspink to a first-look deal.
In 2004, JC and Chris wrapped production on Dreamworks’ “The Ring 2” and New Line’s “Monster In Law,” a comedy starring Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda and directed by Robert Luketic. By the end of 2004, the duo commenced production on Dreamworks' “Red Eye” directed by Wes Craven and starring Rachel McAdams and New Line’s “Just Friends” starring Ryan Reynolds.
Since inception, Benderspink has expanded its literary and talent management divisions and moved into television by inking a first-look deal with Fox 21. Benderspink continues to make diverse feature films and retains their deal with New Line Cinema.
Benderspink currently manages over 50 writers and directors.
